Desert Tours from Marrakech

Marrakech is the classic gateway to the Sahara and the starting point for more of our tours than any other city. From the red-walled medina, private vehicles head south over the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, past the UNESCO-listed kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, and on toward the desert u2014 whether that’s Merzouga’s Erg Chebbi dunes or the more remote Erg Chegaga near M’Hamid.

Because Marrakech has the widest range of departure options, it’s also where we offer the most flexibility: fast 3-day dashes to the dunes, longer 5 and 6-day circuits taking in the Dades Valley and Todra Gorge, and multi-day camel treks further south. Most tours from Marrakech include a private driver-guide, one or more nights of desert camping, and a camel trek into the dunes.
