Day 1 :

The route climbs into the Anti-Atlas mountains toward Tafraout, a town set among pink granite boulders and almond orchards.

Late afternoon is free to walk among the famous painted rocks just outside town, a surreal art installation set into the natural granite formations.

Day 2 :

Tafraout to Tata

Tafraout to Anti-Atlas villages to Tata

The road winds through traditional Anti-Atlas villages built into the hillsides before descending toward the pre-Saharan oasis of Tata.

Overnight in Tata, a gateway town between the mountains and the desert proper.

Day 3 :

Tata to Erg Chegaga

A stop near Akka reveals prehistoric rock engravings before the road continues to Foum Zguid, the last outpost before the dunes.

By late afternoon a 4x4 track leads into Erg Chegaga, with a camel ride among the dunes and a first night camping under canvas or open sky.

Day 4 :

Full day and second night at Erg Chegaga

A full day to explore Erg Chegaga — climbing dunes for panoramic views, sandboarding, and resting through the hottest hours.

Return to Agadir
